Today I stopped by to see the progress on the unit we’re renovating at the senior living facility in Centennial, CO. Last time I was there, demolition was just getting started with carpets being torn out, kitchen cabinets being removed, and the bathrooms getting gutted.
Since then, a lot of progress has been made. Demo has been completed and new plumbing for the showers and sinks has been installed. We’ve patched any drywall that was damaged prior to and during demolition and gave all of the walls a fresh coat of paint.
We’re moving right along with this project, but still have a lot to do including:
- New LVT Flooring
- Update the showers
- Add grab bars to both showers
- Install new lighting fixtures
- Baseboards
- Kitchen Cabinets
- Kitchen Countertops
More updates will be coming soon!

This morning I joined Mark Sharr, Global Construction’s Vendor Coordinator for the start of demolition day. He will be overseeing the entire demolition process and ensuring residents in neighboring units are not disturbed during the construction process. As I mentioned in the previous post, this is a fairly extensive unit turn that consists of the following:
- Flooring Replacement
- New Cabinet Boxes and Doors
- Updated Countertops
- New Kitchen Appliances
- Adding Light Fixtures & Fans
- Fresh Paint Throughout
- ADA-Compliant Shower Installation
- Replacement Vanities and Sinks
- Updating Plumbing
- Replacement Window Coverings
- New Baseboards
Demo is just getting started, so stay tuned for future updates!

Before starting any project, it’s imperative to have a plan of action. We always go over final plans outlining demolition and the following phases of a project. A superintendent’s job is to have an understanding of every aspect of a project and help keep subcontractors, vendors, and in-house trades on track.
Today, we are at a senior living facility in Centennial, CO that has a mix of independent and assisted living along with a memory care wing. This project is a pretty major unit turn that will have us removing all of the floors, replacing the cabinets, countertops, and appliances along with a number of plumbing and electrical upgrades. There will be a lot of moving pieces, so Director of Operations, Denis Koval joined Project Superintended Anthony Lopez to ensure everyone was on the same page.
Tomorrow we start demo.
