Denver, CO — October 23, 2025 — Global Construction, a construction firm specializing in hospitality, senior living, and multifamily CapEx renovations, has partnered with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to deliver a transformative affordable housing development project in Denver.
The initiative, called the Denver Veterans Village, will convert a local hotel into affordable, single-occupancy housing for over 100 U.S. veterans. Once complete, the property will include on-site support services such as job training, education assistance, and mental health care.
This major affordable housing development project represents a significant step forward in addressing veteran homelessness in Colorado. Each former hotel room will be redesigned into a fully equipped, studio-style apartment, providing residents with a safe, private, and dignified living environment.
Beyond providing housing, Denver Veterans Village will feature a robust network of on-site support services that help residents build long-term stability, including:
- Job training and workforce development programs
- Benefits and education assistance
- Access to medical and behavioral healthcare
- Mental health and PTSD counseling
- Addiction treatment and recovery support
Together, these services make the Denver Veterans Village a model for affordable housing developments that combine secure housing with comprehensive care, ensuring veterans have the resources they need to thrive.
“We are honored to partner with Tunnel to Towers on a project that will have a real, tangible positive impact on the lives of so many veterans in our community,” said Denis Koval, CEO of Global Construction. “This affordable housing development represents the kind of purpose-driven work that makes a lasting difference and strengthens communities.”
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was founded in memory of firefighter Stephen Siller and has a long-standing national mission to serve veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families.
On September 11, 2001, New York Fire Department firefighter Stephen Siller responded to the attacks at the World Trade Center. Having just finished his shift, he raced back to his firehouse, strapped on roughly 60 pounds of gear and ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he laid down his life while saving others.
In his honor, the foundation was named “Tunnel to Towers” to reflect his heroic path, through the tunnel, up to the towers, and to symbolize its mission of building support for veterans, first responders and Gold Star families in the wake of sacrifice and service.
The Denver Veterans Village continues that mission by directly addressing the shortage of affordable housing developments that integrate supportive services for at-risk veterans.
Construction on the Denver Veterans Village affordable housing development is scheduled to begin in November 2025, with completion expected in 2026. When completed, the community will serve as a model. It will show how teamwork and new ideas in construction can help end veteran homelessness across the country.
About Tunnel to Towers Foundation
